Walk With the Hawke has been a game-changer for me when it comes to making regular exercise a part of my life. Starting a new routine is always easier when you have people to encourage you and be “in it” with you. WWTH provides both that encouragement and “we’re in it togetherness”. Having the other Hawke Walkers there to enjoy great conversation during the walks made it fun and helped me to feel I was never on the journey alone – even when it was hard. Having Jan as my own personal cheerleader all along the way made an even bigger impact. With her check-ins and constant encouragement, I’ve gone from total couch potato to exercising four to five times a week with a mix of walking and group fitness classes at the local Y. If you’re looking for a fun, supportive environment to create some new healthy habits in your life, WWTH is for you. Come join us! - Michelle S.

Sept 2, 2016 - Check out Walk with the Hawke alumna and walking success story, Clare, who has just completed her 3rd month of outdoor fitness boot camp with Operation Boot Camp Decatur!
Her goals in joining Walk with the Hawke were to get back into a regular exercise routine and work towards the running required for boot camp.
Clare started with Walk with the Hawke 10 months ago today.
She was dedicated to her craft, walking every day and quickly developed daily walking as a habit. She later added in weight training with the friendly and motivating instructors at the Decatur Family YMCA.
After 7 months of walking she pushed to the edge of her comfort zone and decided to give boot camp a try. She was pleasantly surprised that it was so fun! Now she loves her workout routine that is fun and challenging and different every day.
Way to go, Clare! YOU have made this happen for yourself. Well done!
